Youth Advisory Commissioners Confirmed, First Meeting Feb. 16th

ANCHORAGE - Last night, the Anchorage Assembly confirmed the appointment of 15 commissioners (and 7 alternates) for the newly reinstated Youth Advisory Commission. Commissioners range in age from 13-19 and represent the broad ethnic and geographical diversity of Anchorage.

“Young residents bring fresh perspectives, idealism, and vitality to civic duty. I look forward to working with the Youth Advisory Commission,” stated Mayor Ethan Berkowitz.

“The Youth Advisory Commission will be a powerful force of youth voice and action in Anchorage. Involvement of youth in the city is important for our future. Mayor Ethan Berkowitz sees that and I'm excited to join him and the commission to show the unique and positive resources that are the youth of Anchorage,” said Commissioner Herczeg.

The Commissions first meeting will be on Tuesday February 16, from 5:30 – 7 pm.
