Mayor Sullivan names Lucinda Mahoney as Chief Financial Officer

Mayor Dan Sullivan today announced that Lucinda Mahoney has been named the city’s Chief Financial Officer (CFO). Mahoney, who most recently worked as a private consultant and manager of Arctic Slope Regional Corporation’s (ASRC) shared services center, begins work at the municipality on Aug. 17.

“Lucinda is a seasoned professional and proven performer, and I believe she will bring strong leadership to this critically important role,” said Sullivan.

Prior to her work with ASRC, Mahoney was a director with KPMG LLP managing its business consulting practice in Alaska. She also held various management positions in accounting, analysis, systems and audit during a career with ARCO.

During her 26 years in the industry, Mahoney has performed a variety of financial functions, including developing and managing KPMG’s management consulting practice in Alaska. She also provided a broad range of consulting services to organizations in Alaska and the Pacific Northwest, including Sarbanes Oxley consulting and training; strategic planning; expert witness; business valuations for merger or acquisition; business process re engineering; benchmarking; business process outsourcing; and internal control reviews.

Mahoney holds a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Alaska; a Bachelors of Business Administration with a concentration in Finance, University of Texas; and is an accredited valuation analyst with the National Association Certified Valuation Analysts.
