Mayor Berkowitz Names New Municipal Attorney

ANCHORAGE—Today, Mayor Ethan Berkowitz announced that Becky Windt Pearson has accepted the position of Municipal Attorney for the Municipality of Anchorage (MOA). Windt Pearson replaces William D. Falsey who will assume the role of MOA’s new Municipal Manager.

Most recently, Windt Pearson worked as Corporate and Land Use Counsel for GCI. Prior to joining GCI, she was an attorney with Ashburn and Mason, P.C., specializing in real estate, land use, and municipal law issues. Windt Pearson also clerked for Judge Morgan Christen, then a Justice on the Alaska Supreme Court. She has been a member of the MOA Board of Ethics since 2015.

Windt Pearson previously worked as a teacher, travel writer, and on local planning and land use issues. She earned her A.B. in Sociology from Harvard University and her J.D. from Yale Law School.

Windt Pearson begins work with the MOA on Nov. 6.
