Mayor Berkowitz Finalizes Office Team

ANCHORAGE – Mayor Ethan Berkowitz announced Ona Brause as Deputy Chief of Staff, Myer Hutchinson as Communications Director, Amy Coffman as a Special Assistant focusing on community councils, diversity, and homelessness and Nora Morse as Special Assistant/Press Assistant working on public safety, domestic violence, and sexual assault. 

“Ona, Myer, Amy, and Nora together bring the Mayor’s office fresh perspective, wide breadth of background, and a commitment to our community,” said Mayor Berkowitz. “They share my vision in making Anchorage safer, more secure, and stronger.”

Ona Brause is a lifelong Alaska resident born and raised in Anchorage, who graduated from Boston University. She has experience in both the public and private sector, most recently as the Director of Finance and Operations for Intelligent Energy Systems, LLC, an Anchorage-based business focused on accelerating renewable energy and energy efficiency deployment in Alaska. She formerly worked for Mayor Berkowitz in the Alaska State Legislature.

Myer Hutchinson is a lifelong Alaskan born and raised in Juneau, Alaska. Myer graduated from the University of Washington and worked as a legislative aide in the Alaska Legislature most recently as Press Secretary for the Senate Minority Caucus.

Amy Coffman has a degree in Linguistics from the University of Alaska Fairbanks. Her professional career and volunteer experiences have centered around political, legislative and advocacy work, with a focus on human rights, worker rights and aging issues. Amy worked in the Alaska Legislature for eight years, serving as staff to then Representative Berkowitz.

Nora Morse is a lifelong Anchorage resident who graduated from American University with an interdisciplinary degree in Communications, Law, Economics and Government. She previously interned for Senators Lisa Murkowski and Mark Begich.
