Community Open Houses

Anchorage Bowl Land Use Plan Map Project

Mayor's Corner

3/10/2016

Planners will present the Community Discussion Draft of the Anchorage Bowl Land Use Plan Map at open houses Tuesday and Wednesday, March 15 & 16. The open houses will be at the UAA Consortium Library from 2 to 5 pm, in Room 307. Parking is free both days.  The map will direct land uses over the next 20 years in the Anchorage Bowl. It advances the goals of Anchorage 2020: the Anchorage Bowl Comprehensive Plan, and takes into account all the neighborhood and district plans, rezonings, and other changes in the community since the Comprehensive Plan was adopted in 2001. The last official Anchorage Bowl Land Use Plan Map was adopted in 1982.

Following the open houses are two regional meetings to discuss the map with other community members and Planners. These meetings are organized by community councils. Councils from the Northwest or Southeast quadrants of the city, are invited to the regional workshop on Tuesday, March 15 from 6 to 8:30 pm.  Councils from the Northeast or Southwest quadrants of the city are invited to the  Wednesday, March 16 workshop from 6: to 8:30 pm.

All the events are being held in the same location.
