ANCHORAGE – The Anchorage Senior Advisory Commission, Anchorage Department of Health and Human Services and the Anchorage Senior Activity Center, are hosting the 2016 Older Americans Month Celebration. The national celebration recognizes the contributions of seniors in Anchorage and around the country. Keynote speakers include Mayor Ethan Berkowitz, U.S. Senator Lisa Murkowski and guest speaker Anchorage School Board member Bettye Davis. The winner of the Ron Hammett award, recognizing the contributions of individuals to improve the lives of seniors in Anchorage, will be announced at the celebration.
