2014 STATE OF THE CITY
Every year, Mayor Sullivan presents his State of the City Address. The presentation is designed to update residents on the status of our beautiful community and highlight the results of the investments that have been made over the last several years. In addition, the presentation covers important topics such as public safety and property tax relief.

OCTOBER IS CYBER SECURITY AWARENESS MONTH
Mayor Sullivan has proclaimed October as Cyber Security Awareness Month. As our nation becomes increasingly reliant on information systems to provide critical outreach and services, internet users face increasing threat of malicious cyber attack and significant financial and personal privacy losses.
Mayor Sullivan encourages all local residents to learn more about cyber security and to use best practices in their homes, schools and workplaces. More information on cyber security can be found at www.dhs.gov/cyber or http://www.staysafeonline.org/.
MAYOR SULLIVAN VETOES AO-74 AND AO-80
Mayor Sullivan issued a message regarding his decision on Assembly Ordinance (AO) 2014-80 (S1); an ordinance amending the Responsible Labor Act (AO-37). Mayor Sullivan also addressed AO 2014-74; an ordinance which would repeal the Responsible Labor Act.

BAYLESS REMEMBRANCE SERVICE
It is with great sadness that the Anchorage Fire Department announces the on duty death of Senior Captain Jeff Bayless, age 51.
The procession for Captain Jeffery Bayless is scheduled for Saturday, March 15th, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. The remembrance service is scheduled to being at 2:00p.m.

Earthquakes can strike suddenly without warning at any time of the day or night and at any time of the year. Research shows that most injuries during an earthquake are a result of people being hit by falling objects and shattered glass, rather than from collapsed buildings. STANDARD & POOR’S ASSIGNS HIGHEST RATING TO THE MUNICIPALITY OF ANCHORAGE
MUNCIPALITY NOW RATED AAA BY S&P
Mayor Dan Sullivan is pleased to announce that the rating agency Standard & Poor’s (S&P) has raised the Municipality’s general obligation rating from AA+ to AAA, the highest rating possible by S&P. This rating reaffirms S&P’s confidence in the city’s financial management and its economic outlook.
