The U.S.S. Anchorage arrived in San Diego today

The U.S.S. Anchorage arrived in San Diego, CA today at 9:30 a.m. after nine days at sea following a historical journey and Alaska's first commissioning ceremony of a United States vessel.
The City of Anchorage and the United States Navy League Chapter 151 will continue to communicate with CDR Stewart and crew of the U.S.S. Anchorage and will issue regular press releases to the media.

The world class educators Pasi Sahlber, Ph.D and Dr. Ee-Ling Lowand were brought here to share their expertise and provide follow up to last year's Mayor's Education Summit and continue our work to improve education in Anchorage.

49th State Angel Fund announces $2.1 million in financing

Fund (49SAF) has announced its first investments. 49SAF is a $2 million partner in the Anchorage Opportunity Fund, which will invest in later-stage companies seeking expansion capital and benefit Anchorage economically. Additionally, 49SAF invested $90,000 in Fractal Medical LLC’s “Call Dr.,” a mobile medical app which allows physicians the ability to consult by Smartphone video.
