The Mayor's "Meeting the Challenge" Award:

a partnership between the Mayor's Office and the University of Alaska

Criteria

1. Community Service:  Nominees are doing positive things with their lives, improving their schools, and/or helping the wider community through community service.
2. Personal Challenge: Nominees have overcome a personal challenge that speaks to their strength of character.
3. Vision:  They have a vision for themselves and others.
4. Student Status:  Nominees should be in their junior or senior year in high school; in good standing both academically and in terms of attendance.
5. Residency: Nominees must be residents of the Municipality of Anchorage.
