Arts Advisory Commission Grant Application
The Mayor’s Office is now accepting applications from qualified organizations for the 2012 Arts Grants. The link to the application form can be found below. Applications must be received into the Arts Advisory Commission no later than 5:00pm on December, 15, 2011.
Organizations may find the guidelines link helpful when filling out the application.
Once the applications are received the commissioners will evaluate and conduct Art hearings. Organizations that have applied for an Arts Grant will have the opportunity for a face to face presentation to the commission. After the grant hearings are conducted the commissioners will recommend the budgeted funding to the Mayor and the Assembly for consideration.

Art Grant Hearings
Grantees are given an opportunity to sign-up for face to face presentation of their organizations mission, purpose and future plans. Time allocations on grant hearing dates are divided into 20-minute segments per grantee. Grantees make a brief 10-minute presentation to the Commission as a whole, after which the Commission’s lead panelist has a 10-minute period to ask specific questions or facilitate questions from the Commission. Hearings are held over a three-day meeting period.
Commission members must disclose any organizational affiliations and refrain from participating in discussion and voting on proposals related to individuals or organizations with which they have an affiliation. (Alaska Ethics Laws, as per Alaska Statute 39.52.10)
