On Thursday, October 4, 2012 the Anchorage Fire Department responded to the report of a large vehicle fire at Titan Topsoil near W. 106th and C Street.  Upon arrival crews found a large excavator on fire. The operator’s cab was fully involved with fire starting to extend into the engine compartment area under the cowling.  The cause of the fire is ruled as incendiary.  The equipment was heavily damaged and the estimated loss is $50,000 to $75,000.  There were no injuries as a result of the fire.

The fire investigator is seeking the public’s help in trying to identify those responsible.  If you may information concerning this fire or other fires the fire department as that you contact Crime Stoppers.
