Mid Town Coffee shop burns

On Wednesday morning, May 22, 2013 at approximately 4:05am the Anchorage Fire Department received a 9-1-1 call reporting that a coffee shop at the corner of 37th and Lake Otis (Sugar Shack Coffee Stand) was on fire.
First arriving units reported that the coffee shop was on fire and most of the fire was contained to the inside of the building. Crews quickly extinguished the fire.
After the fire was extinguished crews began investigating and learned that the southern window of the coffee shop appeared to have been broken out. Crews stated that it appeared that the coffee shop had been broken into and ransacked. Many of the items on the shelves were found on the floor. The interior of the structure is considered a total loss. The fire is still under investigation.
The Anchorage Fire Department is seeking the publics help in identifying those responsible.
