Ordinance No. AO 2006-34  an ordinance amending Anchorage Municipal Code Title 12 to enact a sales and use tax on the sale of goods within the Municipality for the purpose of reducing property taxes proportionately through the Municipality, with certain exemptions, with a cap and with reimbursement for collection, all within the tax cap except for costs of collections as permitted by Charter Section 14.03 (b) (2) and (3), subject to a sunset provision, and submitting the question of whether or not to approve a sales tax to approve a sales tax to the qualified voters of the Municipality at the next Regular Election on April 4, 2006 with re-approval required at a subsequent Regular Election as established by ordinance.
