NOTICE OF MUNICIPAL ASSEMBLY PUBLIC HEARING: 

The Assembly of the Municipality of Anchorage will hold a public hearing on the following legislation at its regular meeting of August 8, 2017.  The public hearing portion of the meeting begins at 6:00 p.m. and is held in the Assembly Chambers, Z.J. Loussac Library, 3600 Denali: 

Resolution No. AR 2017-243, a resolution of the Anchorage Municipal Assembly to name the sidewalk plaza and flower beds at the Northeast Corner of Spenard and Benson in honor of Della Colver Barry, Mayor’s Office.   

Ordinance No. AO 2017-98, an ordinance of the Anchorage Municipal Assembly amending Anchorage Municipal Code Chapter 3.97 to require consideration of traditional Dena’ina names for the official name of public places, and amending that chapter and AMC Section 4.60.090 to be more inclusive by changing the panel name to “Public Naming Panel”, Assembly Vice-Chair Dunbar. 

Ordinance No. AO 2017-101, an ordinance of the Anchorage Municipal Assembly amending Anchorage Municipal Code to add a new Chapter 15.90 Invasive Species to prohibit the sale of Prunus padus (Commonly Known As Bird Cherry or Mayday Trees), and Phalaris arundinacea (Commonly Known As Reed Canary Grass), Assembly Vice-Chair Dunbar.

Resolution No. AR 2017-244, a resolution confirming the 2017 assessment roll and levying special assessments for services on property specially benefited in the Downtown Improvement District, Special Assessment District 1SD97, setting the dates of assessment, and providing for assessment billing, payment due dates, application of payments, delinquency, penalties, interest and costs for delinquency and enforcement and appropriating assessment revenues to Special Assessment Fund (271) for services benefiting the property owners in Special Assessment District 1SD97, Finance Department/Property Appraisal.

Ordinance No. AO 2017-102, an ordinance authorizing a long term lease between the Municipality of Anchorage as Lessor and Paramount Investments, LLC, as Lessee of Lot 7C, Block 2, Merrill Field Replat Addition No. 6, located between Runway 07/25 and 5th Avenue, Merrill Field Airport. 

Ordinance No. AO 2017-103, an ordinance authorizing the acquisition of real property at 1535 Orca Street, legally described as Lot 7, Block 40, Third Addition to the Townsite of Anchorage (PID 003-141-06), for an amount Not To Exceed $400,000, Merrill Field Airport. 

Ordinance No. AO 2017-104, an ordinance authorizing the disposal by sealed competitive bid of Heritage Land Bank (HLB) Parcel 1-007-C, legally described as Tract C 007 Subdivision (Plat 99-12) (PID 051-211-10), in Chugiak, and amending the 2017 HLB Annual Work Program and 2018-2022 Five-Year Management Plan, Real Estate Department.

Ordinance No. AO 2017-105, an ordinance authorizing the sale of properties foreclosed for delinquent taxes and/or special assessments, Real Estate Department. 

Ordinance No. AO 2017-106, an ordinance amending Anchorage Municipal Code Chapter 12.15 Real Property Taxes to add a new Section 12.15.065 authorizing a Residential Real Property Tax Penalty Waiver if specific conditions are met, retroactive to June 15, 2017, Finance Department/Municipal Treasurer and Department of Law.

Ordinance No. AO 2017-107, an ordinance amending Anchorage Municipal Code Chapter 3.30 entitled “Personnel Rules” to create a Public Safety Pay Adjustment limited to Police and Fire Executives, and to consolidate Police and Fire Classification Titles, Employee Relations Department.

Ordinance No. AO 2017-108, an ordinance amending Anchorage Municipal Code Subsections 21.04.060D. and 21.10.040F.3. to correct a technical error in the PCD and CE-PCD Zoning District Standards, Office of Economic and Community Development and Planning Department. 

Assembly Memorandum No. AM 564-2017, Cooperative Purchase from Vera Whole Health (Vera) for the Municipality of Anchorage (MOA), Employee Relations Department (ER) ($10,851,402), Purchasing Department.
