On March 21, 2017, the Anchorage Assembly approved an ordinance repealing and reenacting the Municipal Code of Ethics which became effective immediately. Until it is available online at MuniCode, you may access the new Code of Ethics through the approving ordinance, AO 2017-42, As Amended, by clicking on the link above.
Due to the rewrite of the Municipal Code of Ethics, all forms prescribed by the Board of Ethics have been revised. Please dispose of all old forms.
The New Ethics Code defines public servant to include employees, board members, and elected officials. Further, AMC 1.15.030 defines the following:
A. Employees - all employees of the Municipality of Anchorage, including employees of a corporate authority owned by the Municipality and employees of the Anchorage School District.
B. Board Members - members of the public appointed to serve on a municipal authority, board, or commission and board members of limited road service areas whether elected or appointed.
C. Elected Officials - Assembly members, Mayor, School Board members, and board members of general service areas.
