Youth Election Assistant Program
Join our team of the future civic participants!
Youth are a great untapped resource this program will result in greater election participation.
The Youth Election Assistant program will allow youth at least 16 years of age, who are enrolled in school and meet the qualifications, to join seasoned election board members to learn the procedures and to assist voters.
Engaging youth is an important initial step to encourage increased election participation by voters and develop an increased pool of election workers.
Requirements:
Be at least 16 years of age.
Be enrolled in public or private school, or being educated in your home by a parent or legal guardian as a student in good academic standing.
Obtain a work permit and complete I-9 employment forms before beginning work.
Provide approval signature of your parent/guardian and teacher/principal verifying that student is given permission to work and the student is in good academic standing.
Attend mandatory training as determined by the Office of the Municipal Clerk - Election Office.
