| SALARIES AND EMOLUMENTS COMMISSION
This five member commission establishes the salaries, benefits, and allowances for the Mayor, Assemblymembers, School Board members, and Anchorage Telephone Utility Directors. Anchorage's Home Rule Charter provides for the appointment of this commission and sets out its duties.
Meetings: At least once every two years, but not more often than once a year.

ELECTION COMMISSION
This six member commission provides advice on the conduct of local elections, recommends changes to local law relating to elections, serves as the canvass board, investigates allegations of election misconduct, and reviews all questioned and absentee ballots.
Meetings: This commission meets once a year to organize. Other meetings are held at the call of the Assembly Chair, Municipal Clerk, or Commission Chair.

| BOARD OF ETHICS
This five member board receives complaints of violations of local conflict of interest ordinances. The Board also renders advisory opinions on the provisions of the law.
Meetings: This board holds a regular meeting once a month.

BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT
The Assembly decides appeals from decisions of lower administrative bodies that approve or disapprove plats, land use variances, and conditional land uses. The appeal is based solely on the record established before the lower body. Board of Adjustment decisions may be further appealed to Alaska State Superior Court.
