The candidate filing period was January 25, 2008 at 8:00 a.m. through February 8, 2008 at 5:00 p.m. in the Office of the Municipal Clerk, 632 W. 6th Avenue, #250, Anchorage, Alaska. 

February 12, 2008 at 5:00pm is the last day for a candidate to withdraw.

FOR INFORMATION ONLY:  In order to run for Assembly & School Board, two forms must be filed with the Office of the Municipal Clerk:  Declaration of Candidacy and Public Officials Financial Disclosure.  Service Area board candidates will file only the Declaration of Candidacy.  We encourage you to use the electronic forms available online.  Candidate filing forms are listed below in pdf format and in the Office of the Municipal Clerk.  Declaration of Candidacy must be notarized, both must have original signatures.   

ALL candidates must file Campaign Fund disclosure with APOC.  The requirements are listed on the Alaska Public Officials web page.  APOC encourages all candidates to use the electronic forms available online.

Campaign Disclosure forms: 

  • 2008 Campaign Fund Disclosure statements are online at http://www.state.ak.us/apoc.  Please see the APOC website for additional information.  Application type is based on funds the candidate intends to raise or spend during their campaign. Forms are available at both the APOC or in the Clerk's Office and must be filed with APOC, contact information is listed below.

Contact APOC as soon as you decide to run for office and before campaign fundraising begins.
